UCF Flute Boot Camp

June 9-11, 2017

Campus Location: Performing Arts Center - Music, 120M

The Flute Boot camp is a three day intensive program designed to educate and inspire young flutists. In addition to the daily curriculum, guest artists will give classes to the students.

Early Registration Tuition: $120 by March 31

Regular Tuition: $150 by June 1
Late Registration Tuition: $225 after June 1

15% discount for second child.

Early Registration Housing: $80 by March 31
Regular Housing: $100 by June 1

Parking

Parking Garage I (next to PAC Music Building) for $5 per day, or metered parking behind the Music Building, in front of the Burnett Honors College and Rehearsal Hall. Printable UCF Campus Map.

Housing

Overnight campers will stay in UCF's Libra Community housing.

Drop-off for housing will be inside the Performing Arts Center - Music Building at the Box Office. Check-in is Thursday. Luggage storage will be available.

Check-out will occur in the morning on the last day of camp. Luggage storage will be available.

Linens and towels are provided.

After Care

For parents who are unable to accommodate the regularly scheduled pick-up time, after care is available for participants from 3:00pm to 6:30pm. The cost is an additional $40 for the duration of the camp. For participants in both the Flute Boot Camp and Flute & Piccolo Institute, the cost is $140. During the Institute, care is available 8:00 to 9:00am and 3:00pm to 6:30pm.

What to Bring

  • Yoga mat
  • Face towel
  • Refillable plastic bottle
  • Flute and piccolo (If you don't have a piccolo, UCF will provide one)

Day 1-2

7:30-7:45am - Check-in INSIDE Performing Arts Center Music Building reception area
8:00-9:00am - Yoga at the Performing Arts Center M120 (Escribano or Hunt)
9:00-10:00am - Flute Aerobics (Nora Lee García, D.M.A.)
10:00-11:00am - Flute Orchestra
11:00am-12:00pm - Zumba
12:00-1:00pm - Lunch and Tutoring sessions with assistants
1:00-2:00pm - Flute Orchestra
2:00-3:00pm - Flute Master Class with Irene Pruzan (All-State, memorization skills, concentration skills) 
3:00pm - Check-out INSIDE Performing Arts Center Music Building reception area

Day 3

7:30-7:45am - Check-in INSIDE Performing Arts Center Music Building reception area
9:00-10:00am - Flute Warm up (Dr. Garcia)
10:00-11:00pm -  Allstate Preparation (Dr. Garcia)
11:00-12:00pm - Flute Orchestra
12:00-1:00pm - Lunch
1:00-2:30pm - Flute Orchestra
2:30-3:00pm - Prepare for Concert
3:00-4:00pm - Boot Camp showcase and Flute Institute Open House. Final concert and All County Music store display, Performing Arts Center M150
